Twig (Bekah)

bekah stubs her toes with minimal effort, falls into rivers while attempting to stand still, twists her fingers while playing the piano, and walks into doors and walls. she also wants to teach college students. or be a gymnast. or write like Mark Twain.

likes: music, reading, writing, outdoor adventures, thinking hippie thoughts, and assorted geekery.

dislikes: alarm clocks and shoes.

thoughts on photography:  i chase the life-in-action shots with a zoom lens for an accomplice. The genuine smiles, laughter, and emotions of people who forgot that someone 30 feet away has a camera are my favorite rewards at the end of the chase. I love photojournalism, sports photography, and movement.

 Twitch (Lani)

lani teaches music, takes pictures, burns herself in the kitchen, music directs kids' musicals, and lets her nursing student husband practice taking her blood pressure.  she draws the line at needles, though.

likes: bookstores, fonts, flightless birds, frisbee golf, bright colors, and christmas.

dislikes: january, capital letters, and mushrooms.

thoughts on photography:  i love taking pictures of people.  trees and flowers are ok ... but to me, each person is a totally unique and complex work of art, and my job is to anticipate, to see, to frame, and to reveal that art.  i love unconventional settings, unposed poses, cell phone cameras, half-smiles, expired film, and grainy black and white.
